Maulsby Roofing recommends using ridge vents in order to meet the shingle manufacturer’s recommendations for adequate roof ventilation. Inadequate ventilation can lead to premature shingle failure and sheeting deterioration (warping and buckling). Good quality ridge vents help provide the most even air flow as well as the most volume of air, short of using a motorized system. It also blends in well with the appearance of the roof.
